About Us

Formed in 2014 the Llyn Syfaddan History Group (LSHG) is a thriving local history group of over fifty members, based around Llangors Lake.
Our main objectives are to:
    1. Make history enjoyable and accessible to all.
    2. Promote interest in local history.
To achieve this we run an annual programme of guest speakers, arrange field trips, open days, participation in the annual Brecknock History festival, work closely with other history groups and organisations and finally, building up an archive of local history resources.
We are members of the British Association of Local History Groups.

Annual membership is £5 for individuals and £7 for families.

Information Point
In September 2017 Llangors Community Council arranged for the custodianship of the disused Telephone Box at Talyllyn to be handed to Llyn Syfaddan History Group for the betterment of the community. The famous "K6" Telephone Kiosk was errected in the village in 1966.
The box was repaired, and a band of volunteers started work immediatly to clear the surrounding area, strip off old paint and repaint with undercoat and Post Office Red paint, all provided by BT.
