In recent times three Local MPs representing
the constituency of Brecon and Radnor have resided in
the area.
Richard Livsey held the seat between 1985 - 1992 and
1997 - 2001, he was spokesman on Agriculture and Welsh affairs. In 2001
he was created a Life Peer taking the title of Lord Livsey of
Talgarth, and taking his seat in the House of Lords. He lived
in the "Old Vicarage" Llanfihangel Talyllyn, and took an active part,
supporting all village activities. He was invited to re-open the
refurbished village hall, and took his turn as President of the Village
show.
Roger Williams held the seat between 2001 - 2015,
having taken an active part in local politics as a Powys County
Councillor for many years, and was Chairman of the "Brecon Beacons
National Park". He remains a Councillor for the adjoining ward of Felin
Fach. He lives and farms at Tredomen Court Farm, he was active in the
area and also served as President of the Village show.
Jonathan Evans held the seat between 1992 - 1997,
buying "Drostre House" Talyllyn during his term in office.
